# Dr. Kaz — Revelstoke operator research

Research date: September 19, 2026. Primary operator sources only. This is planning research, not a reservation, endorsement, supplier agreement or confirmation of inventory. No operator was contacted. Canadian-dollar amounts throughout; displayed US-dollar conversions were deliberately excluded because some operator tables have inconsistent conversions.

## Decision recommendation

**Start with places on an existing Revelstoke departure.** The guest may join Kaz alone, bring friends, or help fill a standard ski group. A private helicopter is an optional format. No fixed five-person crew is required. Kaz still counts as a guest for operator capacity and payment purposes.

Request comparable written proposals for actual interested travelers and two date windows:

1. **Selkirk Tangiers standard small group:** published per-person prices make this the first budget benchmark. Ask about available places with Kaz or filling a ski group. A standard group has up to four guests, with other groups potentially sharing the helicopter in rotation.
2. **CMH Revelstoke Signature:** ask about joining its larger shared ski groups with Kaz and any friends, using its downtown base. Confirm placement, price and room arrangements.
3. **Eagle Pass lodge:** ask about available places within its four-guest ski groups and twelve-guest lodge. Check its advanced/expert and prior-experience requirements against actual guests.

If the interested party wants private flying, request a separate private quote. Selkirk Tangiers’ Bell 212 program is one published comparison; it is not the default requirement. Available places and time skiing with Kaz must be explicitly confirmed. No fixed dates, guaranteed powder, hotel partnership or operator commitment is established.

## Published formats and planning prices

### Selkirk Tangiers — standard small group

[Official 2026/27 A-Star package page](https://selkirk-tangiers.com/heli-skiing/multi-day/small-group/)

Four ski days, five nights at Coast Hillcrest, Tuesday check-in. Maximum four guests per group, weight dependent; maximum three rotations. Unlimited vertical, 15,000m minimum guarantee over the trip. Includes double-occupancy lodging, all meals on multiday packages, skis/boards, certified guides, safety equipment and emergency medical coverage. Airport transfers, alcohol and gratuities are excluded.

| Season band | Four days, CAD per guest | With published 5% tax |
|---|---:|---:|
| Dec 20, 2026–Jan 9, 2027 | 9,999 | 10,498.95 |
| Jan 10–30, 2027 | 11,339 | 11,905.95 |
| Jan 31–Mar 6, 2027 | 16,219 | 17,029.95 |
| Mar 7–27, 2027 | 11,829 | 12,420.45 |
| Mar 28–Apr 10, 2027 | 11,339 | 11,905.95 |

These are published rates, not a quote or room inventory. The single-room upgrade needs pricing. The operator must confirm places and grouping with Kaz. Filling the standard four-guest ski group is optional and does not buy a private helicopter.

### Selkirk Tangiers — optional private Bell 212 comparison

[Official 2026/27 private packages](https://selkirk-tangiers.com/heli-skiing/multi-day/small-group/private/)

The **up-to-six-guest Bell 212** four-day package includes five hotel nights, single occupancy for one group, meals, equipment, guides, airbags, medical/evacuation coverage. Published flight time is **7.2 hours included, four hours guaranteed**. Extra flight hours, transfers, alcohol and gratuities are excluded. Prices below are for the entire group, plus 5% tax.

| Season band | Four-day group price CAD | Equal split across five, with 5% tax* |
|---|---:|---:|
| Dec 20–Jan 9 | 89,299 | 18,752.79 |
| Jan 10–30 | 90,999 | 19,109.79 |
| Jan 31–Mar 6 | 93,629 | 19,662.09 |
| Mar 7–27 | 85,049 | 17,860.29 |
| Mar 28–Apr 10 | 76,539 | 16,073.19 |

*An illustration only, using five equal-paying participants including Kaz; five is not a required party size. No host fee or excluded expenses included. If guests subsidize Kaz, the allocation changes and must be disclosed. Ask whether actual five-person occupancy changes the quote. The A-Star private option instead uses one group of up to three or two groups of up to four.

### Selkirk — policies and ability

[Refund policies](https://selkirk-tangiers.com/plan-your-trip/refund-policies/) currently labels itself **2025/26**, even while package pages publish 2026/27 rates. Obtain the governing 2026/27 contract before using these figures in checkout. Published multiday policy: 35% non-refundable deposit; final payment ten weeks before departure; loss of deposit on earlier cancellation and all payments within ten weeks. Operational shortfalls are calculated against guaranteed vertical/flight time, not a whole vacation refund. It lists CAD235 + tax per 1,000m shortfall for three/four-day small groups and CAD6,160 + tax per hour for private Bell 212 shortfalls. No refunds for ability, fitness, illness or injury shortfalls. Day-package cancellation and resort-pass provisions are separate; don't apply them automatically to multiday bookings.

[Preparation FAQ](https://selkirk-tangiers.com/plan-your-trip/preparation-faq/) recommends strong advanced resort skills, fitness and powder/gladed practice. Grouping also depends on program, stay length, weight and ability. Route each participant through operator screening. A social host is not the ski guide or ability assessor.

### Eagle Pass — lodge and day choices

[Official lodge package](https://eaglepassheli.com/packages/multi-day/) has 3-, 4- and 7-day trips. Twelve-guest lodge near Revelstoke; private ensuite bedrooms, meals, sauna, hot tub and yoga/stretch space. B2 A-Star service, up to three groups of four guests. Unlimited vertical with 3,000m/day guaranteed cumulatively; gear, airbag, radio, guiding and limited insurance included. A resort ticket is offered for weather downtime.

| Four ski days | CAD per guest before taxes |
|---|---:|
| Dec 1, 2026–Jan 3, 2027 | 9,975 |
| Jan 4–Mar 14, 2027 | 15,925 |
| Mar 15–31, 2027 | 11,850 |

Verify included arrival/departure hotel nights and ground transfers in writing. Alcohol/massage and insurance scope require separate confirmation.

[Day-heli package](https://eaglepassheli.com/packages/day-heli/) is CAD2,600/day Jan 4–Mar 14 and CAD1,660/day in its December/early-January and March 15–31 bands, before applicable taxes. Up to eight runs, six guaranteed; lunch, equipment and safety gear included. Breakfast, dinner, lodging and getting to Revelstoke are separate. Four peak days at rack rate calculate to CAD10,400 before taxes/lodging/meals/transfers; the operator invites multiday discount inquiries. Ski groups remain four. It allows a custom in-town social itinerary but creates more coordination work.

### Eagle Pass — realistic dates and terms

[2026/27 lodge availability](https://eaglepassheli.com/packages/multi-day/2027-lodge-availability/) showed the following four-day windows marked as having seats when accessed:

- Arrival January 3; skiing January 4–7: CAD15,925 per person.
- Arrival March 10; skiing March 11–14: CAD15,925 per person.
- Arrival March 21; skiing March 22–25: CAD11,850 per person.

The page does not give a numerical seat count. These are quote targets only: neither four seats together nor five seats are confirmed. Numerous other four-day windows show sold out. Recheck before presentation, and never reproduce this as real-time Dr. Kaz inventory.

[Terms](https://eaglepassheli.com/booking/terms-and-conditions/): 30% deposit plus taxes; balance due first week of October; payment in CAD. Lists 5% GST plus lodge taxes of CAD8 PST and CAD3 MRDT per night; verify the application and number of nights. Guest cancellation before final deadline forfeits deposit; after it, replacement/resale conditions apply. Operational cancellations still retain fees. Day heli with zero/one run: refund less CAD210 plus tax. Lodge full down day after commencement: seasonal refund less CAD210/day, with remaining guarantee reduced. Partial lodge shortfall: CAD610 per 1,000m below cumulative guarantee. Operator cancellation does not cover flights or other Revelstoke travel expenses. Confirm season-specific terms and refund sequence directly; these are not blanket full-refund products.

[Ability policy](https://eaglepassheli.com/booking/guest-ability/): advanced/expert black and double-black ability, knee-deep powder experience across trees, steeps and variable snow, plus prior heli, cat or backcountry experience. Fitness/ability failures don't earn refunds. This is unsuitable as a first-ever powder product merely because someone is a confident groomer skier.

[Private program](https://eaglepassheli.com/packages/private-packages/) offers custom dates, unlimited vertical, a concierge and support helicopter for two/three-group private bookings; meals beyond lunch and lodging should be separately quoted. It is an optional private comparison; agree group placement and time with Kaz for the actual party. No public numerical private price was verified. Its marketing says unlimited ordinary heli-skiing; clarify extraordinary helicopter-use charges in the written contract.

### CMH Revelstoke — keep it geographically accurate

[Revelstoke destination](https://www.cmhheli.com/destinations/revelstoke) is an in-town operation based at the Regent Hotel. It offers walkable restaurants/pubs, meals at 112 Restaurant and Lounge, hot tub, massage, gym/games facilities and resort access during suitable downtime. The current program listing describes Signature trips of four/five days, groups up to eleven guests plus a guide, with four groups. Five friends could join a larger group if CMH confirms grouping. No dated 2026/27 price or numerical inventory was verified from the official booking tool, which requires JavaScript.

Kelowna is its recommended gateway; the operator describes approximately two-to-three-hour transport. Arriving early allows a resort warm-up. Do not confuse nearby remote lodges with this downtown experience.

[CMH inclusions](https://www.cmhheli.com/planning/plan-your-trip/whats-included) cover accommodation, meals/snacks, selected non-alcoholic beverages, ski equipment and safety pack/training. [Transport page](https://www.cmhheli.com/planning/plan-your-trip/getting-here) includes Revelstoke transportation from Kelowna; airfare and pre/post accommodation are separate. Confirm transfer timetable, whether departure permits a same-day flight and single rooms. Airbags may be separately rented; personal boots are required.

[CMH private overview](https://www.cmhheli.com/heli-skiing/private-and-exclusive) quotes broad group sizes across all destinations, not a guaranteed five-person Revelstoke aircraft. It distinguishes private skiing with shared lodging from exclusive lodge/helicopter buyouts. Request exact Revelstoke aircraft, guide count, guest count, weight envelope, hotel/chalet and four-day quote. Do not take the general 4–10 guest marketing range as proof that five fit a particular Bell 407 configuration.

### CMH contracts, guarantees and remote alternatives

[2026/27 booking terms, updated July 14, 2026](https://www.cmhheli.com/planning/booking/terms-of-booking): 20% deposit, non-refundable after a 72-hour review period. Regular-trip balance is due 90 days before; private-trip balance **126 days before**. Guest replacements depend on weight/ability suitability. Regular trips can have a CAD250 change fee within 90 days. Cancellation credits have timing and same-season restrictions. Private cancellation can leave remaining guests responsible for the cancelled guest's cost. CMH cancellation offers replacement booking or refund of payments. Taxes are additional; rates are CAD. Read the actual product contract, not a generic summary.

[2026/27 vertical guarantee](https://www.cmhheli.com/planning/booking/vertical-guarantee): four-day Revelstoke Signature guarantees an opportunity for 12,000 vertical metres, not the 14,000m used by other Signature locations. Eligible operational shortfall refunds are CAD180 per 1,000m. No refund for ability, fitness, illness, injury or choosing not to ski. Private Bell 407/Bell 212 have different guarantees and group refund rates; confirm which contract applies. Weather cannot be guaranteed and a resort day is not an equivalent heli day.

[CMH Gothics](https://www.cmhheli.com/destinations/gothics) is a remote, road-access lodge north of Revelstoke, roughly four hours from Kelowna, with a final forest-road approach. Its firepit, sauna, lodge bar and social atmosphere are attractive, but it is a different base and daily experience from downtown Revelstoke.

[CMH Adamants](https://www.cmhheli.com/destinations/adamants) is a remote fly-in lodge north of the Revelstoke/Golden corridor, requiring a helicopter transfer. It specifically describes four guests plus one guide in an A-Star B3. This is a separate remote-lodge option with its own capacity and travel arrangements. The generic [CMH small-group page](https://www.cmhheli.com/heli-skiing/small-group) describes four/five guests depending on destination/aircraft; verify the chosen lodge rather than carrying this number across locations.

## Product design implications — our recommendations

- **Lead with a crew and date conversation.** Offer joining an existing departure, bringing friends/filling a standard ski group, and optional private flying. Confirm how much time guests ski with Kaz; do not impose a fixed guest count.
- **Sell the evening deliberately.** One welcome dinner, a consistent après meeting time, a relaxed chef dinner, cards/fire/photographs, and a final meal give the host proposition structure. They are proposed experiences until venue/operator approval, not supplier inclusions.
- **Price the actual formats only after quotes:** individual places on a suitable departure, a filled standard ski group if desired, and a private option when requested. A lower-budget resort-plus-one-heli-day version can follow; it must not masquerade as four heli days.
- **Make the form qualify fit.** Collect preferred dates, total party size, broad budget in CAD, prior powder/backcountry experience and contact permission. Operator should collect weight, health history, waivers and emergency contacts through its secure onboarding after qualification, not through a public marketing form.
- **Keep payment boundaries clean.** Pilot guests can pay the operator directly for their own places; publish any separate hosting/concierge fee and actual services. Zero host fee is viable for the first trip if the objective is validating demand, but coordination has real cost. No hidden host subsidy.
- **Don't let a down day kill the social experience.** Pre-plan resort skiing where conditions/transport permit, an optional recovery afternoon, and an evening reservation. Operator controls flight and mountain decisions; optional replacements may cost extra and should be explicit.

## Written quote request checklist — draft, not sent

Describe a flexible party including Kaz, four proposed heli-ski days, winter 2026/27, a Revelstoke base and a sociable experience. Ask first about individual places, then the option to fill a standard ski group, with private flying quoted separately only if wanted. Request:

1. Two or three specific date options, hold expiry, available places/rooms, minimum booking requirements, and agreed time skiing with Kaz.
2. Aircraft, guides, number of groups/rotations, weight limits and any conditions that can split the group.
3. Total group and per-person cost in CAD, all taxes/levies, room nights, meals, transfers, equipment/airbags, insurance and exclusions.
4. Included versus guaranteed vertical/flight time, overage rates, down-day treatment, resort-pass/transport options and refund worked example.
5. Deposit, final balance date, replacement/cancellation rules, host cancellation, guest minimum and whether supplier permits third-party hosted group marketing.
6. Assessment/onboarding process, waivers, guide authority and routing of sensitive participant information directly to the operator.
7. A private welcome/farewell table, any fire/lounge access, quiet space for our crew, photographer availability and content/media permissions.
8. Exact referral/agency arrangement if any, payment recipient, responsibilities and authorization to show operator name, images or rates on the Dr. Kaz website.

No deposits should be collected against a rate table or a waitlist label. The current website can prepare an inquiry for the visitor to send from their email app; confirmed inventory and agreed terms are prerequisites for booking/payment features.
